Portfolio Privacy Policy
Effective August 13, 2026.
Portfolio offers a free phone and text support service that helps people navigate public benefits and government services. It is operated by Portfolio Holdings, LLC (“we,” “us”). An automated assistant answers first; our human support staff review conversations and can step in at any time. This policy explains what information the service collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers phone calls and text messages, including picture messages, to and from Portfolio numbers. Message and data rates may apply.
What we collect
- Your phone number.
- The content of your conversations with us: your text messages, any images you send, and, for phone calls, an audio recording and a written transcript. Every call starts with an announcement that it is recorded.
- Notes our support staff add while helping you.
We collect only what we need to help resolve your question.
How we use your information
- To answer your questions and follow up on your request. Your conversation history lets you pick up where you left off instead of starting over on every call.
- To let our human support staff review conversations for quality, and to let them step in and help you directly.
- To fix problems with the service and make it work better.
What we will not do
- We will not sell your information.
- We never give your phone number, or the fact that you agreed to receive texts, to anyone else for marketing. Mobile opt-in and consent data will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
- We will not send you marketing messages. We text you only in reply to a conversation you started, or after you agreed on a phone call to receive a text.
Who we share information with
We share information with service providers that run parts of the service under contract with us: our telephone and messaging carrier, the companies that turn call audio into text and help generate replies, and our cloud hosting and storage providers. They may use your information only to provide the service. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep your information
Conversation records are kept for up to 12 months after your last activity, then deleted, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Internal records of which staff member accessed which conversation are kept indefinitely, for accountability; they record our staff's actions, not the content of your conversations.
Your choices and your rights
- Stop receiving texts: reply STOP to any message. See our text messaging terms.
- See your records: ask us for a copy of the conversation records we hold about you.
- Delete your records: ask us, and we will delete the conversation records we hold about you.
For any of these, email support@portfolio.sc or ask in any conversation with the service.

If we change this policy, we will post the new version at this address with a new effective date.
